Winter Training set to kickoff after the first of the year. Winter training will be on a Monday or Tuesday night beginning the week of January 5th. Each team will have 8 consecutive weeks of skill training.

MID-STATES REGIONAL CHAMPIONS

GM 1 VS. NEBRASKA

STE. GEN. 15 NEBRASKA 1

Game summary: The offense pounds out 11 hits and 15 runs to support Mike Greminger's two hitter in five innings. Cole Bieser lead the attack with three hits and three RBI's. Geile, Greminger (five RBI's), and Moulton all contributed two hits apiece.

GM 2 VS. TEXAS

STE. GEN. 3 TEXAS 0

Game summary: Pitching and defense was the key to victory. Nathan Geile pitched 7 strong innings giving up 6 hits and striking out seven in the shutout. Three runs in the third proved to be enough. Loida was hit by a pitch, Blum walked, Geile, Basler and Greminger, hit three straight singles for all the scoring.

GM 3 VS. BLAIR, NE. 8PM ON SATURDAY 8/2/08

STE. GEN. 11 BLAIR 0

Game Summary: Jason Blum dominated on the mound throwing five innings of two hit ball for the shutout. The bats stayed alive with Basler having three hits and two RBI's and Bieser collecting two hits with three RBI's. Loida added two hits with a triple.

 

GM 4 VS. NEBRASKA @ 8PM ON SUNDAY 8/3/08

STE. GEN. 5 NEBRASKA 7

Game Summary: Jason Blum led the hit attack with three and Mike Greminger added two but it was not enough as Ste. Gen. lost their first game of the tourney. Derek Koller suffered the loss on the mound.

GM 5 VS. NEBRASKA @ 8PM ON MONDAY 8/4/08

STE. GEN. 7 NEBRASKA 6

Game Summary: Two out RBI's were the story to the championship as several players came up with big hits. Bieser, Geile, Basler, Greminger, Moulton, and Loida all had one hit apiece. Geile had a bases clearing triple in the second and closed the game with a save on the mound. Mike Greminger recorded his second win of the tourney.

STE. GEN. JR. LEGION CAPTURES THE MISSOURI STATE TITLE

 

GM 1 - 7/24/08 STE. GEN. vs ST. CHARLES @ 3PM - LIBERTY PARK

Game one summary:

Ste. Gen. 10 St. Charles 2

Bieser, Geile, Basler,Koller each had 2 hits apiece. Koller had a solo home run in the 3rd. Mike Greminger received the win with 5 solid innings of work giving up no runs on 1 hit with 4 K's.

GM 2 - 7/24/08 STE. GEN. vs. SEDALIA 8PM

Game two summary:

Ste. Gen. 5 Sedalia 3

Blum had 2 hits with an RBI, Koller and Basler (double) each had one hit. Weiler had 2 RBI's, one with a perfectly executed squeeze bunt in the 6th to start a rally with Koller coming up with a 2 out single to plate two more. Nathan Geile got the win going 6 2/3 giving up 6 hits and 3 runs. Andrew Bader came on in the 7th with bases loaded to slam the door for the save.

7/25/08 GM 3 STE. GEN. vs. NEVADA @ 3:30PM

Game three summary:

Ste. Gen. 9 Nevada 3

Blum, Moulton and Koller lead the offensive attack with two hits and two RBI's each. Weiler adds two hits with a triple. Bieser, Basler, Greminger, and Carrow round out the 12 hit game with one hit each. On the mound Blum goes the first three innings giving up 2 runs in securing the victory and Bader comes in and does an outstanding job of holding the lead for 4 innings earning the save.

7/26/08 GM 4 STE. GEN. vs. SEDALIA GM @ 3PM

Game four summary:

STE. GEN. 10 SEDALIA 0

The bats stayed alive to secure the state title. Bieser, Geile, Basler, and Weiler all contributed 2 hits apiece. Greminger, Koller, and Loida added one each. Koller breezed through the Sedalia lineup for the complete game shutout.
